Tom Barber

Owner, Sales & Production, is a licensed builder (Michigan license # 21-01-072044) and is the qualifying officer of Barber Construction, Inc., Michigan license #21-02-117385.

Tom has been a member of the National Association of Home Builders since 1987 and is a Alternate National Director. He is currently the 2010 President of the Michigan Association of Home Builders. He is a Life State Director and has served on several committees at local and state associations. On the local level, he has served as President of Tri-Lakes Home Builders in 1988-1989 and 1999-2000.

Passionate about the building industry, Tom has earned several certifications by attending seminars all over the country. Continuing his education is not only important, but critical to keeping Barber Construction current with best practices.

• Certified Aging-in-Place Specialist, CAPS

Other interests:

• Served on the Gerrish Township Planning Commission since 1990, many as chairman.
• Supported many community projects such as an addition for a handicapped boy, fairgrounds kitchen,
• Ramp-A-Thon and repairs to a historical schoolhouse.
• Belongs to the Houghton Lake Masonic Lodge, Worshipful Master in 1996, Secretary of the lodge for several years and Master Mason of the Year Award in 2003.

Wilma Barber

Owner & Office Administrator. Wilma was the Executive officer of Tri-Lakes Home Builders Association for 22 years before retiring and is now working full-time for Barber Construction.

Ray Whitman

Project Manager & Lead Carpenter. Has been in the building business for over twenty years and has been with Barber Construction since 2007. Ray is a Certified Lead Paint Renovator and is a Vinyl Siding Institute Certified Installer.

Bill Johnston

Lead Carpenter. Has been with Barber Construction since 2002 and building for twenty plus years. He is also a Certified Lead Paint Renovator.
